I
started my professional live as a Chartered Accountant in the UK in the
70's and ended up a Marketing and Communications Director in Australia
some 30 years later.
In the middle I have been company doctor,
investment advisor, corporate trouble shooter, writer, speaker and
performer on three continents.
For the last ten or so years I have
been a senior executive with Zurich based ABB, helping them change the
behaviour of their managers and staff around the world. I facilitated
restructuring in Australia, integrated acquisitions in the UK, designed,
developed and delivered culture change programs in Europe and introduced
professional sales and marketing cultures wherever I had the opportunity.
Prior to that I was a consultant and business advisor in the UK,
New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia, focusing on educating business
and investors on how to make money without working yourself into an early
grave.
I have been a delegate to the Business Council of Australia
(being a member of the working group that produced their signature
scenario planning publication, Aspire Australia
2025), a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of
Australia and a Director of Environment Business Australia.
More
recently I have been elected to Lane Cove Council in Sydney.
If we are to achieve rapid and permanent change in the
environmental degradation now taking place, we must influence the
political process as well as educate people about the benefits of
green-capitalism
Lane Cove is a Liberal heartland, yet has strong
and committed environmental groups. By being
on council as a member of The Greens but with a strong business
background I hope to demonstrate that the two can, not only live with
each other, but forge a new paradigm to help solve our many environmental
problems without economic meltdown.
Lane Cove can become a role
model for other towns and cities by putting in place the
policies necessary to achieve carbon neutrality. It cannot be done
overnight, but with committment and co operation we can slowly
minimise the environmental footprint of the whole town, while also
ensuring it becomes a more thriving business community.

in Lane Cove and would like to help make Lane Cove the best
place to live, learn, work and do business please contact
